You will be creating a holiday themed piece of art. In order to create this art, you will need to decide on the outline of your design. Then, you will rip small (the smaller, the better!) pieces of coloured paper to glue into your design.

Fall Zentangles
Your assignment:
You will be creating your own Fall themed zentangle. Task one: Learn a variety of patterns and fill your sheet. Task two: Draw/pick an outline to fill with your patterns. Task three: Complete your good copy using black markers. Task four: Complete a self-assessment. |
A Zentangle is a miniature abstract work of art. It is created from a collection of patterns not meant to represent anything.
There are no mistakes in Zentangle, so there is no need for an eraser. If you do not like the look of a stroke, it becomes an opportunity to create a new tangle. Inspiration for Task one

Trickster Theatre Residency
The Grade 5 and 6 classes at Dr. Martha Cohen will be participating in our very own Trickster Residency! With the support of Trickster, we will create an original 90-minute theatre performance for up to 500 actors.
The show is based on a theme chosen by the school and developed with the assistance of Trickster. Our theme is : Canada 150 and the Arts. Check out our page on the Trickster Website. Here is a video for an overview of the program! |
